Production and Elimination of Unspecific Bands in Agar-double Diffusion of Plant Viruses
Abstract: Phosphate is usually used in purifying plant viruses, but phosphate buffer can form unspecific bands with some hosts during purification by agar-double diffusion. Unspecific bands often interfere with the determination of specific bands in detection of the plant viruses. The absorbing method can be utilized to eliminate the interfering phenomenon.
