Cell Fusion by Epidemic Hemorrhagic Fever Virus

The results of our experimental research indicated that epidemic hemorrhagic feve virus (EHFV) couses cell to cell fusion under acidic conditions. Maximum fusions was obtained at pH5.0—6.0. The EHFV-infeeted cell was covered with medium overlaid by methylcellulose and thenthe cell culture developed the fusion foci.
