Study of Guinea Pig Cytomegalovirus Infection on Pregancy
Abstract: The effect on pregnant guinea pig of cytomegalovirus infection through subcutanues(SC) and intracardiac (IC) was evaluated. Animals developed viremia, generalized and persisted infection in two groups. Rates of cytomegalovirus transfer from mother to fetus were 38% and 44% in group SC and IC respectively, Rates of abortion were 27% and 25% in group SC and IC respectively, Still born occurred in rate of 63% in group SC, The study proves that congenital cytomegalovirus infection can be caused by blood transmi...
