Inhibitory Effect of CSF-1 on Human Common Respiratory Tract Viruses in Vitro
Abstract: This paper reports the protective effect of human CSF-1 on human fibroblast cultures infected by viruses in vitro, that is, before virus challenge, the treatment of cell cultures with CSF-1 may result in the inhibition of virus replication and virus-induced cytopathy. The challenge viruses included 2 strains of HSV, 1 strain of influenza A_3 virus, 1 strain of ECHO-11 virus, 5 strains of different serotypes of adenovirus, 1 strain of rhinovirus and 1 strain of VSV.
