HPV59 Infection and E6 Gene Mutation from Patients with Cervical Cancer in Sichuan
Abstract: The development of effective strategies against cervical cancer require knowledge on the prevalence and molecular biology of the Human papillomavirus (HPV). We have investigated HPV infection in 60 women suffering from cervical cancer. HPV was typed by PCR of DNA extracts. The prevalence of cervical HPV 59 infection was 5% (3/60). We also characterized E6 region nucleotide variation by PCR-directed sequencing. 1 of 3 cases showed 4 sites variations (T102C, C306T, A363C and T402C) in E6 region.
