Virologica Sinica will publish a Special Issue on “Herpesviruses, Vaccines, and antiviral strategies” in October 2017.

Herpesviruses are a large family of DNA viruses that cause diseases in both vertebrate and non-vertebrate species. In nature, at least 8 species of Herpesviridae infect humans:  HSV-1 and HSV-2, varicella zoster virus, cytomegalovirus, Epstein-Barr virus, human herpesvirus 6 (variants A and B), human herpesvirus 7, and Kaposi's sarcoma virus (or human herpesvirus 8). Most herpesvirus infections are mild or asymptomatic, and can establish latent infection in specific tissues.

This special issue aims to summarize the recent findings in both laboratory and clinical studies about herpesviruses, and therapeutic advances in the treatment of herpesvirus infection. The deadline for submission of this special issue is July 31, 2017.

Publication fees will be waived for all accepted manuscripts.
For manuscript preparation or submission, please visit www.virosin.org or write to manuscript@virosin.org.
