  • The serotype with the highest incidence during the 2016 dengue outbreak in Sinaloa was DENV-2, followed by DENV-4.
    This study represents the first report of the DENV-4 serotype in Sinaloa, Mexico, prior to 2022.
    Phylogenetic analysis clustered DENV-2 in Asian II genotype and DENV-4 in genotype I.
