    • During a period of 4 to 19 May, 1986, there had been an outbreak of epidemic diarrhea primarily among adults in Xiang yang county, Hubei Provinee. 98 out of 208 people were infected,with an incidence rate of 47.1％. All age groups were attacked, most of them were youth and in their prime of life. 18 faecal samples were taken for culture of bacteria, the results showed no bacterial pathogen.
