1988, 3(1): 21

The human cytomegalovirus (HCMV) strain AD_(169) was inoculated into SL_7 cells. Between the 3rd and 4th day postinfeetion, the capsids were assembled in the nucleus and budded through the nuclear membrane. From the perinuclear cisterns, the enveloped particles migrated into the cytoplasm. At this stage the virions were formed. At the 4th day most of the capsids closely associated with a skein-like material, namely typical nuclear inclusion, were observed. It may be the site of viral synthesis. Concurrent w...

1988, 3(1): 37

We detected antibodies to HFRSV in 156 sera of 82 patients with HFRS diagnosed clinically by RPHI and IFA-IgG. 66 out of 82 cases showed positive, and 83.6% and 73.8% of them were 4 times higher than those of acute stage in antibody titer of convalescent serum by RPHI and IFA-IgG, respectively. There were no false-positive results in 256 normal sera. The positivity rates of detecting antibodies during the first five days after onset by RPHI and IFA-IgG were 53.3% and 41.9% respectively, and 95.8%, 79.2% in ...

Studies on Replication of Epidemic Hemorrhagic Fever Virus in Cultured Macrophages Derived from Rodents and Human Blood

YAO Xiao-Jian, YU Yong-Xin

1988, 3(1): 41

It was found that the epidemic hemorrhagic fever(EHF) viruses could be replicated well in cultured peritoneal macrophages derived from Mongolian gerbiles, Syrian golden hamster and Balb/c mice as well as in cultured human peripheral blood leukocyte. The sensitivity of maerophages from Mongolian gerbiles and Syrian golden hamster were higher than Vero-E_6-cells, however, the macrophage from Balb/c mouse was less sensitive than the other three. No obvious difference was observed for the replicating ability in...

LIU Nian-Cui, MENG Xiao-Lin

1988, 3(1): 48

The structural polypeptides of Buzura suppressaria Guenee nuclear polyhedrosis virus was studied by vertical slab polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. The results revealed that the polyhedrin—the only major polypeptide with molecular weight of 31×10~3±1000d and the virus particle had at least 23 bands with molecular weight ranging from 13 to 107×10~3d. Glycoproteins of polyhedrin and virus particle were absent by PAS staining detection.

1988, 3(1): 54

Polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis(PAGE) and agarose gel eleetrophoresis(AGE) were used to analyze the Chinese Sacbrood Virus(CSBV). The experiment revealed the RNA of CSBV is a single-stranded species which is easily degraded, and the virus protein consists of three polypeptides with molecular weight of 27,000, 29,000 and 39,000 daltons respectively. The RNA and three polypeptides of the CSBV were different from those of thesacbrood virus from Apis mellifera (SBV). ′Institute of Apiculture, Chinese Academy...

Tentative Studies on the Granulosis Virus Disease of Iragoides conjuncta Walker (Lep.: cochlidiidae)

SUN Fa-Ren

1988, 3(1): 59

A granulosis virus was isolated from dead larvae of Iragoides conjuncta Walker from jujube trees in Fei Cheng, August 1981. Under electron microscope the granular bodies were shown to be elliptic, oval in shape and the size of 200—250×300—400nm. The virus particles liberated from the granular bodies in 2% NaOH were rod shape and curved slightly, with rounded end, measuring 150—200×30—35nm. This virus belongs to subgroup B of Baculovirus, terms IcGV. Bioassay conducted in the laboratory showed that the mediu...

A Preliminary Study on the Virus Groups of Tomato and Strain Differentiation of Tabacco Mosaic Virus (TMV) in China

ZHENG Gui-Bin, XU He-Lin, XIONG Zhu-Gong

1988, 3(1): 64

The differentiation of TMV strains was studied and identified all over the country according to the principle of classification of TMV strains proposed by Pelham, J. (1938). The results of identification show that there is a strain differentiation of TMV on tomato in China where four strains were isolated from tomato fields. The strain 0 which only infects susceptible varieties (+/+) holds the most considerable proportion in TMV population in nature, which is widely distributed in most of the tomato produci...
