1987, 2(4): 8

A 30,000-dalton structural protein(VP30)on herpes simplex virus type-2 (HSV-2) -infected BHK cell membranes was purified with an immunoadsorbent column consisting of the HSV-2 type-specific monoclonal antibody(McAb) CH-A9 coupled to Sepharose 4B. The Evidence shows that the VP30 has some properties as follows: First, its molecular weight determined by sodium dodecyl sufate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis(SDS-PAGE)is 30,000. Second, the structural protein is HSV-2 type-specific antigen showed by indirect ...

We have modified and improved the method of immune adherence hemagglutination (IAHA) test and used it to detect virus antigen and antibody of epidemic hemorrhagic fever (EHF). We compared the IAHA titers of different strains infected in Vero-E_6 cells The IAHA titer of A_9 strain showed to be the highest (1: 64) among the three strains. 9 EHF patients paired sera, 3 con valecant sera and 6 immunized rabbits sera were detected with IAHA and compared with IFA. The positive rates detected by the two tests we...

LI Chu-Mei, GU Fang-Zhou, CHEN Bo-Quan

1987, 2(4): 22

The variables which affect the qualitative and quantitative aspects of rubella virus hemagglutination were defined. Large amount of high titered hemagglutinin was obtained by replacing the supernatant of rubella virus infected BHK_21 cells with fresh medium daily. The optimal result wasobtaitied by using Auletta s buffer, pH6.2. Kaolin and Heparin-MnCl_2 were employed to the treatment of serum samples in hemagglutination inhibition test. Among the 107 serum samples tested, the agreement was 98%. Kaolin trea...

1987, 2(4): 27

The anti-JEV McAb is tried out to treat the mice and goats which have infected by JEV,Tbc results show that the JEV-McAbs have an excellent curative effect to several JEV-infeeted mice.It is evidently better than that of the PeAb. After 120 hours of infection, most of the mice have already had the signs of JE,some were nearly dead. If McAb or their F(ab )_2 were given even at this time, approximately half of the mice could be saved from JE. M-MeAb has an evident protective effect in the goats too. After 48 ...

1987, 2(4): 39

The brains and lungs of mice Balb/c infected by standard virus H8278 are examined by electronmicroscopy. There are viruses in the cells of the lungs and brains. The viruses show round and ellipse in shape and the structure of cell membrance is clear, in which loase threadlike or granule structures are included. Foot process could be seen outside of the cell membrance. The sizes of viruses are between —120nm. Inclusion bodies are found in the cell plasma.

XIAO Cheng-Zu, ZHANG Ling-An, KONG Wei-Wei, WANG Hong-Xia

1987, 2(4): 43

With MC-1 type microcarrier at concentration of 5mg/ml, the mouse L929 cell line could attach and proliferate on them very well if the stirring speed was lower than 50r/m.When the cell density was inoculated about 30×10~4/ml,it could proliferate to 1×10~6/ml after 3 days generally. At this time, priming with 25 IU/ml mouse IFN about 12-24 h and then induced with NDV and superinduced with cycloheximide(20μg/ml) and actinomycin D(2μg/ml),the titer of IFN in the media would be 10~5IU/ml approximately, or 10~5IU...
